Gary Bazar pitched well, but the Ontario Blue Pirates still lost the game, falling 1-0 to the New York Empire at Farmers Market Stadium. Pat Delaney notched his 5th save in 9 chances. Ontario has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Michael Joy, the 31-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Joy contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put New York up, 1-0.
