Danger Win Nail-Biter
|
The New Mexico Danger wiggled past the Illinois Warhawks, 4-3, at Todd Berry Memorial Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of New Mexico pitcher Mario Quintana. Jeff Todd got credit for the win, improving to 12-9. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. New Mexico leads the Frontier League East by 6½ games.
New Mexico used a timely hit from Bubba Combs to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Danger ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"There's no quit in this team," said Danger manager Jeff Hoffman.
