Vipers Spill Resonance, 3-2
|
In a tight tilt between the Arizona Vipers and the Washington Resonance, Jorge Maldonado was the deciding factor. The Arizona right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Jonathan Boehlke earned the save, his 46th in 49 tries. Arizona leads the Frontier League West by 3½ games.
The Vipers got a gift in the top of the fourth inning, when they were leading 2-0. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Jason McSweeney reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-0, Arizona.
"Every loss hurts," said Washington manager Larry Gomberg. "But this was a tough one."
