Steelheads Earn 1-0 Win Against Vipers
|
The Idaho Steelheads walked off with a big win.
In a well-pitched game between the Idaho Steelheads and the Arizona Vipers, pitcher Tim Gibson was superb. The Idaho right-hander helped his team win, 1-0. Idaho reliever Todd Albiter picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Bill Banko shouldered the loss.
Idaho won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Bill Banko on the mound for Arizona, third baseman Anacleto Burgueira hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Steelheads fans to their feet.
"It was a test of wills," said , the Idaho skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
The Steelheads now have a mark of 82-77.
