The Pennsylvania Railroaders topped the Maryland Bridegrooms by a score of 2-1. Leading the way was first baseman Mike Cobb. Cobb was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Railroaders. Artie Moore earned the win for Pennsylvania. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. David Litz recorded the save, his 3rd.
It could have been a different outcome for Pennsylvania, had it not been for José Cardenas, the slick-fielding shortstop . Cardenas contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Pennsylvania up, 1-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Pennsylvania manager Mike Kritikos said.
The win has Pennsylvania at 65-96.
