Lauridsen Goes on Rampage Against Tigers
|
The Albuquerque Scorpion Kings stopped the Paducah Tigers by a score of 12-3 at Paducah Ballpark, with the lion's share of the credit going to designated hitter Vetle Lauridsen. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Lauridsen said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Lauridsen did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Tigers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Paducah manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Vetle Lauridsen hit a two-run home run off Pedro Garza in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Ben Heyd in the 9th.
This season, Lauridsen is batting .376 with 33 home runs.
