Pennsylvania Hexed: No-Hit by Salcido
Monday, July 20th , 2054
In a dominant outing, Iván Salcido of the Ohio Knights totally silenced the bats of the Pennsylvania Railroaders, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Knights' 1-0 victory, Salcido faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Ohio manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Jacob Wallendal told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Knights had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Salcido pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This year Salcido has fanned 58 in 123.1 innings and collected a 7-8 record with a 4.67 ERA.
