The Minnesota Mallards first baseman powered three into the stands at Dylan Park at Hennepin today against the Kentucky Lions. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Ward told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." Devin Ward hit a three-run home run off Judite Aldeinha in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Judite Aldeinha in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off John Dupuis in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. This year Ward has socked 96 hits in 343 at-bats for a .280 average with 22 home runs. He is getting on base at a .351 pace and his totals also include 69 RBIs and 53 runs scored. |
