2500 Hits for Curry Friday, October 3rd , 2042 For Chris Curry, it was a red-letter day. The Ontario Blue Pirates first baseman slapped his 2500th career hit. That his team defeated the Virginia Diamond Club, 10-3, made it even sweeter. His manager paid tribute to Curry after the game: "I've followed Chris since he came into the league," he said. "Fine ballplayer. Fine work ethic. I'm not surprised by what he's achieved." The 34-year-old Curry finished the day with 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Curry has a career .302 average with 2500 hits, including 502 doubles, 21 triples and 303 homers, collected 1254 RBIs, scored 1073 runs and compiled a .361 OBP.
