Goudino Spins Masterpiece, No-Hits Maryland
Tuesday, July 21st , 2043
It was a fantastic day for West Virginia Hollers starter António Goudino and a lousy day for the Maryland Bridegrooms.
The West Virginia hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Bridegrooms, as the Hollers cruised to a 2-0 win. When it was all over, Goudino was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.
"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Goudino said later.
He rang up 5 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk while shutting Maryland down at Bridegrooms Stadium.
Presently Goudino has a 5-3 mark in 13 starts with a 3.10 ERA. He has given up 60 hits in 72.2 innings, struck out 69 and issued 18 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .219 batting average against him.
