Garbizo Magnificent in Illinois Win Tuesday, July 28th , 2043 "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage. Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting. Jesús Garbizo of the Illinois Warhawks proved the point at Todd Berry Memorial Field today, holding the California Mallards to 4 hits in a complete game shutout victory. "Garbizo made us look real bad today," Mallards manager said in his postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
