Athletics-Steelheads Trade Announced Saturday, August 1st , 2043 The New Jersey Athletics and Idaho Steelheads have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. New Jersey will part with 18-year-old minor league RHP Leonardo Alonso and a 6th round draft pick, while the Steelheads have dealt 29-year-old minor league RHP Jesús Hernández. "This one took a while to figure out," said New Jersey general manager Mike Trigwell. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." So far this season, in 13 relief appearances Hernández has compiled an ERA of 3.45. He has pitched 15.2 innings, struck out 12, walked 5 and registered no saves. |
