Bears End Dixon's Streak Saturday, June 18th , 2044 It was the best of both worlds for the Colorado Bears today at Lions Stadium, as they defeated the Kentucky Lions 6-5 and also snapped Ron Dixon's 21-game hitting streak. The 26-year-old Kentucky left fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Dixon, we just wanted to win the game," said Bears skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Dixon frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Dixon is batting at a .328 pace this season, picking up 81 hits in 247 at-bats with 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
