Diamond Club End Taylor's Streak
Wednesday, August 24th , 2044
It was the best of both worlds for the Virginia Diamond Club today at Bridegrooms Stadium, as they defeated the Maryland Bridegrooms 4-2 and also snapped Eddie Taylor's 20-game hitting streak. The 29-year-old Maryland third baseman failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Taylor, we just wanted to win the game," said Diamond Club skipper John Heinz. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Taylor frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

In 115 games this year Taylor has posted a .331 average and put up these numbers: 7 home runs, 41 RBIs and 64 runs scored.
