Cross Gets Shutout Sunday, September 18th , 2044 Fans at Ebbetts Field South at Virginia Beach Diamond Club witnessed the California Mallards blank the Virginia Diamond Club, 9-0 behind a superb effort by starter Dave Cross. The California right-hander allowed 3 hits in recording the shutout. "Dave was good today but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," California manager said later. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it."
