Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Hinkle Friday, September 23rd , 2044 The Ontario Blue Pirates may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 11-5 to the West Virginia Hollers, but Ty Hinkle continued to hit like a god. The third baseman collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Hinkle is playing great and is on fire right now," Blue Pirates manager said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Hinkle was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Ty Hinkle singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This year Hinkle has socked 176 hits in 539 at-bats for a .327 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .359 pace and his totals also include 40 RBIs and 72 runs scored. |
