But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In September the Illinois starter earned a 6-0 mark in 7 starts. He threw 45.2 innings, struck out 34 and compiled a solid 2.76 ERA. Up to now Ortega has compiled an ERA of 3.54 with a 13-12 mark over 33 starts. He has 163 strikeouts in 233.2 innings and has held opponents to a .249 batting average. |
