Boyd Smacks 5 Hits for Bridegrooms
Saturday, May 27th , 2045
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Maryland's Cedric Boyd made it happen today against the Railroaders. Everything came together at the plate for the 33-year-old right fielder as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Bridegrooms to a 12-3 win at PNC Park.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Boyd said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Cedric Boyd hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Takuma Fukuda in the 9th.
So far this year Boyd is batting .335 with 6 home runs.
