The team was today mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. "We're disappointed," said Vipers reliever Chad Bader. "Not just for ourselves, but also for the fans that stick with us every year." The Vipers have missed the playoffs 20 times in their 32 years as a American Federation Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 6th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2038. In the last 10 seasons, the Vipers have missed the playoffs 5 times.
