Bears Kooijman Raps 3 Homers Thursday, August 16th , 2046 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Diederick Kooijman can celebrate. The Colorado Bears third baseman powered three into the stands at Mountain View Ballpark today against the North Carolina Aviators. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Kooijman told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Bears toppled North Carolina by a score of 12-3, knocking in 8 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Colorado manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Diederick Kooijman flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Norman Cornell in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Norman Cornell in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Augusto Ramos in the 5th and walked in the 7th. For the year Kooijman has hit at a .252 clip with 97 RBIs, 30 home runs and 66 runs scored. |
