Ohio's Romero Shines, Shuts Out California Thursday, August 16th , 2046 The Ohio Knights shut out the California Mallards 7-0 today behind the strong pitching of Dani Romero. Romero surrendered only 7 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 4. Following the last out, Romero appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for California manager , who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken left-hander as the clubs left the field. Romero's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Mallards skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Knights press conference, Romero confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Romero said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Ohio manager added. This year Romero has fashioned a 8-10 mark, 3.46 ERA and pitched 179.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .252 against him and he has logged 98 strikeouts.
