Peck's 20-Game Hit Streak Ends
Tuesday, August 28th , 2046
The Indiana Vipers did something to Roger Peck no team had done for the last 20 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Lions, who came away with the 6-4 victory at Lions Stadium.
"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 31-year-old third baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."
This season Peck has delivered 116 hits in 362 at-bats for a .320 average with 25 home runs. He is getting on base at a .381 clip and his totals also include 72 RBIs and 75 runs scored. This year Peck has played in 94 games.
