Explorers Mertens Suffers Setback Thursday, September 27th , 2046 Sander Mertens is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for a hamstring strain. Apparently the injury worsened, so the Explorers sent the 27-year-old catcher back to the doctors for reexamination. Mertens told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Mertens will now miss a minimum of 1-2 weeks. Thus far this year Mertens has hit .265 with 28 home runs and 84 RBIs. |
