2000th Hit for Christopher Friday, September 28th , 2046 For Dennis Christopher, it was a red-letter day. The Oregon Explorers first baseman slapped his 2000th career hit. That his team defeated the Kentucky Lions, 8-4, made it even sweeter. His manager paid tribute to Christopher after the game: "I've followed Dennis since he came into the league," he said. "Fine ballplayer. Fine work ethic. I'm not surprised by what he's achieved." The 33-year-old Christopher finished the day with 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
