Railroaders End Kaufman's Streak
Monday, August 17th , 2048
Billy Kaufman, left fielder for the Colorado Bears, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Pennsylvania Railroaders today. Not only did the Railroaders break his 25-game hitting streak, they also beat Colorado by the score of 10-5.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Kaufman said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
Kaufman has a .322 average and a .378 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 160 hits, 7 home runs and driven in 59 runs.
