Simpson 5-for-5 for Aviators Wednesday, July 7th , 2049 It was a parade of hits for Jim Simpson of the North Carolina Aviators at Ebbetts Field South at Virginia Beach Diamond Club today. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Simpson finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Aviators to a 5-2 victory. "Simpson was really good and we were really bad," groaned Diamond Club manager John Heinz. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Jim Simpson singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run double in the 10th.
