Rowdy Players Suspended by League Wednesday, August 10th , 2050 If there wasn't a history between Ernesto Álvarez of Idaho and Ed Raines of Colorado, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 5 and 3 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Álvarez said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." So far this season Álvarez has no home runs and a .274 batting average. This season Raines has made 33 relief appearances with 1 save. His won-lost record is 2-5 with a 5.84 ERA. |
