28-Game Streak Ends, Silva Hitless
Tuesday, September 10th , 2052
California Bulldogs center fielder Tony Silva finally met his Waterloo.
A 28-game hitting spree is now history after Silva was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the New York Twin Towers. Fortunately for Silva and the Bulldogs, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 8-0.
"We're a true team here," he said. "For 28 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day."
This year Silva is hitting .310 with 134 hits, 17 home runs, 59 RBIs and has scored 66 runs.
