Blue Jays End Elvin's Streak
Sunday, August 31st , 2053
Pittsburgh Crawfords first baseman Bob Elvin and his hot bat finally met their match today at Crawfords Field.
The Toronto Blue Jays snapped his 22-game hitting string, holding Elvin hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipping Pittsburgh for good measure.
"We're real pleased with this one," Blue Jays manager said. "Nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a streak like that, and clobbering Pittsburgh makes it even sweeter."
Presently Elvin is batting .328 and has collected 17 home runs, 76 RBIs, .387 OBP and scored 64 runs.
