Avalanche End Dempsey's Streak Monday, September 8th , 2053 The Colorado Springs Avalanche pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Jon Dempsey hitless in 3 at-bats during the club's 10-2 victory over the St. Louis Sportsman at Sportsman Park. The disappointing performance ended a 22-game hitting streak for the second baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Dempsey said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." For the year Dempsey is batting .402 with 13 home runs. |
