Marshall Slams 5 Hits for Colorado Springs Saturday, June 13th , 2054 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Mike Marshall of the Colorado Springs Avalanche. The Colorado Springs left fielder gave it his all and dominated Cleveland Attack pitching today at Cleveland Ballpark, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Attack going home the winner, 9-6. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Marshall said later. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Mike Marshall hit a two-run home run off Juan Contreras in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the season Marshall is currently batting .358 with 17 home runs and 56 RBIs. In 53 games he has reached base at a .461 rate and scored 47 runs to date. View Boxscore |
