Campos Gone for Season in Birmingham Saturday, July 25th , 2054 When Ismael Campos was hurt against the Colorado Springs Avalanche, the Birmingham Vulcans were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 36-year-old starting pitcher suffered a stretched elbow ligament throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Campos would miss 11 months of the season. On the season Campos has compiled a 6-4 mark with a 4.39 ERA in 10 starts. In pitching 94.1 innings he has 94 strikeouts and 37 walks while limiting the opposition to a .271 batting average. |
