Going Once! Twice! Gone Again! 3 HR for Ramsey Tuesday, August 25th , 2054 Wilmington Eagles left fielder Joe Ramsey sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Birmingham Vulcans, Ramsey told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Ramsey pushed the Eagles past the Vulcans, 14-7. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Ramsey told reporters after the game. Joe Ramsey hit a solo-shot off Jorge Orozco in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Orozco in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Dan Sanders in the 8th. Presently Ramsey is batting .267 with 104 hits and 35 home runs. He has knocked in 106 runs and scored 75 times. |
