Grizzlies Stop Geddes at 20 Wednesday, September 2nd , 2054 The hitting streak that Birmingham designated hitter Jeff Geddes had kept going for 20 games was ended today by the Fresno Grizzlies. Geddes was stymied over 4 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 8-6 victory at Grizzles Park. "Hitting streaks come and go," Geddes said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." To date this season Geddes is hitting .283 with 33 home runs. |
