Howard and Matos Fight, Suspended 5 Games
Friday, August 13th , 2055
Bob Howard of the Glendale Cobras was not happy with Juan Matos, and his frustration showed when he went after the Brooklyn player during yesterday's game at Cobras Park. Both benches cleared as they rushed to the aid of their teammates. Order was soon restored as Howard and Matos were pulled away from each other. They were ejected from the game.

Both players were suspended 5 games by the league office as a result of their tussle.

"It's something that happens in baseball every once in a while," Howard commented later. "We get frustrated with another player and sometimes things go too far. We'll both take our suspensions and then come back ready to play. I got no hard feelings."

This season Howard has hit at a .312 clip with 67 RBIs, 22 home runs and 53 runs scored. He has played in 85 games.

Running the numbers on Matos for the year, he has made 17 relief appearances, recorded 1 save and compiled a 3-1 won-lost mark with a 3.92 ERA. In pitching 39 innings, he has totaled 49 strikeouts and 8 walks.
