Carlos Arriaga Bashes Three over the Wall Monday, May 15th , 2056 Carlos Arriaga went yard three times in a St. Louis Sportsman victory over the Olympia Battle Cats at Battle Cats Park today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the St. Louis left fielder went 4-for-5 against Olympia with 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Sportsman to the 10-8 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Carlos Arriaga hit a two-run home run off Ben Williams in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ben Williams in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Luis Árias in the 9th. So far this season Arriaga has gotten 43 hits in 133 at-bats for a .323 batting average with 19 home runs. His stats include 43 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has played in 34 games. |
