East Selects Best Performer Monday, June 2nd , 2059 A hot-hitting week got Sergio Avila the East Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers. The Birmingham third baseman slammed them for a .652 average, 15 hits in 23 at-bats, 1 home run, 3 RBIs and scored 7 runs. In the postgame press conference, Avila shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that."
