5-Hit Game for Vazquez Monday, August 4th , 2059 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ricky Vazquez today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Cobras Park and paced the Avalanche to a 22-9 win over the Glendale Cobras. After his dynamite batting performance, the Colorado Springs center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 8 tries and put his name in the record book. Ricky Vazquez singled in the 1st, singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th and struck out in the 9th.
