LF Michael Receives 2-Game Suspension Thursday, September 25th , 2059 Oklahoma City Whirlwind left fielder Dan Michael received a 2-game suspension from the league office after he was ejected from a game with the San Antonio Turtles recently. "I knew I probably was going to be suspended," said Michael. "We just didn't know how many games. I ain't really surprised about the suspension. What I did was wrong. You never get into it with an umpire like that. Something bad is going to happen, probably a suspension. I just hate it had to come to that." Michael was ejected when he complained bitterly about a called third strike. Michael was called out by the home plate umpire. He immediately spun around and stared at the ump and then used both hands to throw his helmet to the ground. At that point, Michael was ejected. By that time his third base coach and manager had gotten between the pair. Then Michael climbed on the back of his coach trying to reach the umpire. After tussling with him, both men got the irate player calmed down and under control and got him to go back to the dugout and to leave the premises. On the year Michael is hitting .317 with 92 hits, 20 home runs, 63 RBIs, .383 OBP and has scored 60 runs. |
