Salinas Sizzles with 30-Game Batting Streak Sunday, July 18th , 2060 Win or lose, Manny Salinas just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 30 games. The Atlanta Peaches first baseman went 2-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 4-3 by the Brooklyn Dodgers at Brooklyn Park. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Manny Salinas singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. So far this season Salinas is batting .376 with 19 home runs. |
