Roman Bashes 3 HR for Wilmington Wednesday, August 4th , 2060 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Luis Roman did today at Eagles Ballpark, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 9-4. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Roman said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Wilmington Eagles right fielder blistered the Birmingham Vulcans for 4 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Birmingham manager said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Luis Roman hit a two-run home run off Yannick Clément in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Steve Stone in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Phil Hardwick in the 8th. For the season Roman is batting .305 with 120 hits and 30 home runs. He has scored 96 times and batted in 79. |
