Cornford on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Las Vegas Saturday, July 15th , 2045 It was a high-five day for Rob Cornford, at least for a while. The Olympia third baseman got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Las Vegas Dons, but they were in short supply at the end, as Las Vegas took a 12-6 win. Cornford finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Battle Cats couldn't hold off the Dons. "Rob was hitting everything," said Battle Cats manager . "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Rob Cornford doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Curt Keller in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. For the year Cornford is hitting .321 with 18 home runs. His stats include 56 runs batted in and 50 runs scored. View Boxscore |
