Welch 5-for-5 for Battle Cats Wednesday, July 17th , 2047 The Olympia Battle Cats stopped the Las Vegas Dons by a score of 8-3 at Las Vegas Ballpark today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Tommy Welch. The 32-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Welch said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Welch did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Dons. "Not much that I can say," offered Las Vegas manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us." Tommy Welch doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
