Destroyers End Chio's Streak
Friday, July 17th , 2048
Cleveland third baseman Yu-hsui Chio came into today's game against the Annapolis Destroyers on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The Destroyers did their jobs well, beating the Cleveland Attack 17-8 and holding Chio hitless to snap his 38-game hitting streak. The 33-year-old third baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Yu-hsui did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Attack manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 38 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
Thus far this season in 88 games Chio is batting .291 with 1 home run, 36 RBIs and 53 runs scored. He has 109 hits in 374 at-bats.
