Crowley Hits 3 Homers Against Olympia
Sunday, July 11th , 2049
The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Olympia Battle Cats today.
Eugene left fielder Steve Crowley tripled up on the home runs to propel the Ducks to the 12-8 win at Battle Cats Park.
"We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Olympia manager said. "Crowley hit the heck out of the ball."
In addition to the homers, Crowley collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
"Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings."
Steve Crowley struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dan Bruce in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dan Bruce in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Orlando Lino in the 6th, walked in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
Hitting .321 to date, Crowley has 23 home runs and 65 RBIs. He has played in 68 games.
