Colón Batters Beckley for 5 Hits Saturday, September 4th , 2049 At Crawfords Field today, Luis Colón of the Pittsburgh Crawfords put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled the Beckley Farmers pitching staff, but Pittsburgh still came up short on the scoreboard. The Crawfords went home with the 34-11 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their left fielder. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Colón said in the postgame interview. Luis Colón singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year Colón is batting .293 with 73 hits and 15 home runs.
