Smashing Success: Taylor Wallops 3 HR Saturday, September 11th , 2049 Jerry Taylor added his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against the Eugene Ducks. But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The Idaho Falls Rapids fell to the Ducks, 18-17. In his big day at Eugene Ballpark, the Idaho Falls second baseman went 4-for-6 with 6 RBIs and scored 3 times. "It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day." Jerry Taylor flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Orlando Robles in the 2nd, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jorge De La Garza in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Alfredo Reyes in the 8th. Posting a .313 batting average to date, Taylor has 8 home runs and 24 RBIs. |
