Walker, Quintero Suspended for Fracas Saturday, June 25th , 2050 After an intense confrontation, both the Grizzles Steve Walker and the Vulcans Alfredo Quintero were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Fresno-Birmingham game. Steve Walker will miss 2 games, while Alfredo Quintero was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Steve Walker commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." To date, Walker has collected 83 hits for a .384 average. He has posted 8 home runs, scored 44 runs and driven in 47 runs. So far this year Quintero has compiled a 6-5 record with a 5.25 ERA. |
