Super Swinger -- Hancock Slams 5 Hits Saturday, July 8th , 2051 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Danny Hancock is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the St. Louis Sportsman at Battle Cats Park today. The monster effort from the 32-year-old catcher helped the Olympia Battle Cats take the win, 41-3. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Sportsman manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Danny Hancock hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Buddy Alexander in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and walked in a run in the 8th. Hancock is hitting .355 for the season with 21 home runs, 82 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has 113 hits in 318 at-bats and played in 79 games. View Boxscore |
