Great Stroke: Crawford Gets 5 Hits Friday, September 1st , 2051 Raleigh first baseman Alan Crawford had a big day at Eagles Ballpark today against the Wilmington Eagles. The 25-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Explorers to a 8-3 triumph over Wilmington. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Crawford said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Alan Crawford singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This season Crawford is batting .385 with 14 home runs.
