Toronto Blue Jays closer Dan Howard said he loves to come into the game when the outcome is in jeopardy.

He certainly did a good job of impacting his team's outcomes this season, as he has been named the winner of the 2051 Reliever of the Year Award for the East.

"There's no better feeling than running in from the bullpen with the game on the line and your heart pumping," Howard said.

On the season, the Vancouver, Washington native had 13 saves in 35 relief appearances, 21 strikeouts in 41 innings and a record of 1 win and 4 losses to go with his 1.98 ERA.

He received 17 first place votes out of a possible 20. Chip Jordan of the Toronto Blue Jays finished second in voting, while Tim Summers of the Annapolis Destroyers finished third with 3 first place votes.
